DISASTERS IN DATING: perception is the new reality

Just as in Hollywood how image is everything, in relationships it is perception that seems to hold so much weight. how do outside people view your relationship? Often times it is the world who sees things that we may not see or what may in fact not even be true. But just as a Christian desires for their Christ-like light to reflect to the world, wouldn't it be nice that your relationship's happy glow is seen as a beacon? Or are the flashing lights of your relationship really flares, signaling an emergency?

I feel that perception is so very important in relationships because you want your solid foundation to show so much that even the boldest male or female will think twice about trying to destroy it. The perception of solid ground should cause every side heaux to retreat. Perception should not be a front though....it should be reality.

If more men and women understood the importance of perception, certain actions would cease. Frequent communication with exes, text messages from the opposite sex, etc would all be null and void. I can only speak from a woman's point of view, so when I say that some GIRLS don't give a damn....know that there is nothing but truth in that statement. A simple text message to a guy is a crack in the foundation for a girl. Some girls will continue to disrespect a relationship because the guy in it allows them to do so.

Fellas, when was the last time you nipped inappropriate conversation in the bud because it could be perceived the wrong way by your girlfriend?? I am pretty sure 100% of guys would have a fit if their girlfriend had conversations with guys in the same manner that they had with girls outside of their relationship.

Love shouldn't have double standards. point blank period.
Do unto her as you would have done unto you.

If random girls perceive your relationship to be unstable, they will find the crack and dig deep. when that crack becomes a trench, what happens then? resentment. arguing. misunderstanding. diminishing trust. lack of communication.

Relationships require a responsibility that too many people lack. Maturity is also served in low doses.

Before you take another step in your relationship, think hard about what you have contributed to it. What have you been taking for granted? It is never too late to learn from your mistakes and correct them accordingly.

Don't let faulty perception be the death of amor.

NEW VIDS: Find Your Unthinkable Love in the Morning....

I am not a super A.Keys fan right now (im OFF homewreckers & sidechicks) but i can't take away from the fact that she always comes with pretty good videos. This one is no exception. The song is kind of mediocre to me.... something a teen on the cusp of womanhood would sing about. But her vocals are nice and the video has an interesting story line. so Kudos A.Keys, kudos.





Robine Thicke is undoubtedly one of the hottest R&B artists out right now. Furthermore, he's one of the only CONSISTENT artists (regardless of genre) that releases good music. shout out to DropTheVibe.com for supplying me with all the good music on my BB months & months in advance. cuuuuz i have been listening to this joint since before his album dropped.




yay for videos with storylines! i want to be intrigued....entertained....engulfed by a video. Drake def accomplished this with FIND YOUR LOVE. he is still the most highly anticipated artist out. hands down. my only complaint?? Drake needs to lay off the long nites with snacks and liq....he's getting a tad pudgy. #justsaying.

REAL TALK: Surf Club is an army...better yet a family

sooooo im over here catching up on the readings on my blogroll and i see that Drake gave the homies of SURF CLUB a genuine shout out over on OVO. ever since i met them last year, i can honestly say that i have nothing bad to say about them. talented, loyal, focused, cool individuals. too often the journey to the top comes between friends....i dont see that happening with this group. they are 100% down for each other and that in itself is so very admirable.

like i have said in previous posts about Surf Club, i am def a supporter. continue to be great and do great things. it's a pleasure being acquainted with yall.

BAD BISHES: unrecognized intelligence...

intelligent. gorgeous. and rather underrated. what does regina hall have to do to get her big break? i would REALLY love to see her as a force to reckon with. if i had my way, my line up of A list COLOR in Hollywood would be Zoe Saldana, Regina Hall, and Nia Long. i LOVE them. kudos to Zoe for all of her MAJOR accomplishments. as soon as Regina moves away from the mediocre roles, i honestly believe she will be an extremely bright star.

BAD BISHES: Ciara's back....

okay so i know i have personally been giving Ciara shit for lowkey becoming some socialite flunky to Kim Kardashian & company....i hated it. even tho i dig Kimmie K and LaLa, i just didnt understand why Ciara was jet setting, shopping, & have paparazzi'd out lunches in LA instead of doing shows and making music. needless to say, her ride or die fans must have lit fire into her cuz that bish came back harder den a muhfugga. and i APPRECIATE this sh*t! she obviously took the time to construct a plan of attack (instead of putting out stuff on an impulse)and then executed it perfectly. hair, body, song, image....all on point. good sh*t CiCi.

Life of an Intern....

good news!

i just landed the most amazing internship with Bismarck Phillips Communication & Media!!! most people know that i LOVE fashion....i want to own a chic clothing boutique and sit front row at all of the hottest fashion shows as a buyer for my boutique. i want to do styling and personal shopping...i want to do it ALL. eventually, i also want to become an Editor at Large of a MAJOR magazine....something like a way cooler & cuter version of Andre' Leon Talley.

so anywho, i have been looking for a break...any kind of break. i needed to get my toe in this industry so that i could begin to absorb all of the hands on experience that you simply cant get by having numerous fashion mag subscriptions. this break has finally come in the form of this internship. im so very grateful, excited, and anxious. yesterday was my first day and today 3 of my supervisors took me to the side on seperate occasions to let me know how great of a job im doing and to keep up the good work. #clap4me.


just an update....that is all. im happy :-)
