PLAYLIST: Umbrella Much???

as you all may know, i am on a slow journey of toleration for my dear Creepy Minaj. i have nothing against her image or who she is as a person....i think she is doing wonders for a lot of silly little girls' self-esteem (in her own twisted way). as far as talent goes, she's entertaining to say the least. i would never knock her hustle, cuz she IS doing it. but fan? not much.

and rihanna.....my boo rihanna. i ADORE this chick head to toe. she's the less amazing version of my Beyonce' adoration. #justSayin.

this song is IT for me....had me ready to put on some poppin lipstick, a freakum dress, & go BE in some club somewhere. YAAAAAAAAAAS!!!!!!!!! put my hand in the air & reject all the scumbags trying to get my attention. #soWhat cuz it's raining men!!!!!

#imjustsayin.....Rihanna is pretty much THAT Bword.

when i first featured this single, i thought it was cool. but i have been listening to it on repeat and can say that this song is SO deep. up late last night, i was able to catch the video for it. CHILLS. i was like WTF! how intense! Rihanna is seriously coming back with a vengence. her vocals arent quite as yodel-ish and annoying...but rather unique and powerful. i think it really took her going thru some ish to bring her to this new level in her artistry. visually? she is impeccable. her videos are never cookie cutter, but this Rated R album is sure to bring about some grand videos. i also peeped the "Wait is Over" video and she was majorly channeling the 1990s era music vids of other R&B sensations (ex. mary j, swv, tlc, jade, total, & xscape). keep the forward progression goign Rih, cuz im starting to dig you.

i LOVE her STYList. lol, nah but real ish...she's the dopest chick walking the sidewalk runways. BUT i have never been a sold out fan of her music. her vocals don't really move me much. her marketing ppl are amazing though. kudos to the folks that surround her & who have made her into the brand that she is. cant knock her hustle. here's a new joint...Russian Roulette. i dig the song. a tad morbid (just how i like it... huh babe?) haha lol @ me shouting out the boo. anywho...check it out blogger babies & lemme kno what cha think!

REAL TALK: can he live???

aside from the lip synching on "wall to wall", this performance was amazing. the MJ tribute, the dramatic collapse at the end, the entertaining dancing, & the praise from other industry A-listers. you see ashanti, nelly, & beyonce' all googly eyed & happy while he is performing? when are we gonna allow Chris to remove his scarlet letters?? DV is no laughing matter, but people make mistakes. let the man live. why are people scrutinizing his every move, laying in wait for his next DV victim? pssssh! he's 20 and has plenty of growing up to do. but, i commend him for trying to get back to the world of the living in spite of the naysayers. im looking forward to his Larry King interview tonight.


p.s. Rihanna's contribution to this performance was bittersweet. the words to "umbrella" seem to be a testament to their current situation.

FAB FILES: you can't deny her....

rihanna is THAT beeeyotch! there is no way you can deny her star power. granted, im not a huge fan of her music...have never felt the urge to buy an album...but there are an album's amount of songs by her that i do like. whether you love her or hate her, you're still watching her...insanely intrigued by her mystery. puzzled by the thought, "does she have a personality??"...magnetically drawn to every picture on every blog. subconsciously emblazoning every element of her strategically styled outfit into your memory & failing miserably when you try to pull the faux look off. she's my Dirty Diana...with crazy pointed nails, a pouty mouth, & shaved head. her new Vogue Italia shoot has been talked about the past couple of days on the web and i see why. dark, couture, striking, eclectic, psychotic, daring, mysterious...the words i thought when i seen the pictures. she is the golden star of the entertainment world. domestic violence, nude pictures, rumors, beef, etc etc. the world has watched and will continue to watch all while Rihanna changes outfits atleast twice daily & walks the streets of countless cities using the sidewalks as her runways.

although wearing white shoes after Labor Day is considered to be a MAJOR Faux Pas, it looks like wearing white denim will be much more accepted. with a CERTIFIED HOT stamp from two of the industry's flyyest "trendsetters"...i'm sure we will be seeing every Jane, Betty, & Tameka with a pair of WHITE HOTS. u like??

Kelis epitomizes what it means to walk, talk, and live to te beat of your own drum. from her music to her choice in fashion... she does as she pleases. her looks have been praised and then snubbed. so why i wonder, has her mushroom bob been snubbed by some/loved by others... but overall when Rih Rih rocks the 'do it is applauded?? it is loved like she rocked it first or something. idk..i have lots of love for both of these characters, but i wonder is it becase Rihanna is the more relevant artist, that she gets more kudos for the look??
